Research directions

These are questions CUPOD® is studying. They are research goals, not capabilities or results, and none implies that CUPOD hardware works against any organism.

Questions under study

  • Gas delivery: how consistently a sealed pod can generate and hold a target chlorine dioxide concentration in enclosures from about 1 liter to 1 cubic meter.

  • Monitoring and control: sensors, logging and automatic shut-off designed to keep concentrations within set limits and to confirm levels are below occupational exposure limits before an enclosure is opened.

  • Materials: planned testing of how common laboratory and electronic materials respond to exposure. No results yet.

  • Manufacturing: design for repeatable sealed-pod production.

  • Regulatory path: an EPA experimental use permit or registration before any field use.

Research and prototype hardware, not EPA-registered, FDA-cleared, NSF- or UL-listed, or offered for sale. CUPOD makes no disinfect, sanitize, sterilize, or decontaminate claim; third-party references describe chlorine dioxide in general. Full status statement →
